End of shipments, start of support requests processing

Hi everyone!

It was a long way, but here we are, the shipments of your rewards are over! If you haven't received your package yet, be patient, you are probably among the last ones. it may still take some time to arrive at your door. If at the end of the month, you still don't have anything, send us a message.

Now we start to deal with all the issues, the packages that never arrived, etc.. In total, we estimate the incident rate at about 3%. That may not sound like much, but out of more than 15,000 packages processed on all our projects since December, that still represents almost 500 anomalies. Sometimes it is very easy to solve the problem, sometimes it takes longer. We have already started this work and if you haven't heard from support, it should be coming soon. We hope that all the after sales service will be processed during the month of April. We will not forget anyone and we thank you very much for your patience!

Hamlet is a medium weight competitive village builder where players are communally turning their hamlet into a bustling little town, by completing the construction of the church.

C’était un long chemin, mais nous y sommes, les expéditions de vos contreparties sont terminées ! Si vous n’avez pas encore reçu votre colis, encore un peu de patience, vous êtes sans doute dans les derniers. Si à la fin du mois, vous n’avez toujours rien, envoyez nous un message.

Maintenant, nous commençons à nous occuper de toutes les anomalies, les colis qui ne sont jamais arrivés, etc. Au total, nous estimons le taux d’incident à environ 3 %. Cela peut paraître peu mais sur plus de 15.000 colis traités sur l’ensemble de nos projets depuis décembre, cela représente quand même presque 500 anomalies. Parfois, il est très facile de régler le problème, parfois c’est plus long. Nous avons déjà commencé ce travail et si vous n’avez pas eu de nouvelles du support, ça ne devrait plus tarder. Hello Fateforge Community!

Before we launch this dedicated Agate Dragon update, we would like to thank you for all the amazing messages you post here on Kickstarter or on the networks. We are so happy to share your joy and excitement of discovering your rewards! It was a crazy journey! Thank you for all your kindness and nice feedbacks, they mean so much for us!

Shipping is almost complete, we still have a few hundred packages to send out for US backers. Everything should be finished by the end of next week. After that, we will take care of all the requests sent to support. No one will be forgotten but it will still take some time, thanks for your patience :)

The Agate Dragon

Today we want to share with you the incredible work of Roberto, who has been working for the last months on the Agate Dragon sculpture. It is finished! It was one of the bonuses unlocked during the campaign and the STL file will arrive on your Backerkit account very soon. 

We can't wait to see your 3D printing tests. Beware, the creature is absolutely massive...! In addition to the dragon, we ordered two characters from Roberto, two forms in which this Agate Dragon sometimes appears... We won't say more to avoid spoilers ^^ Look in the bestiary Creatures "Thousand Faces". There is a small space to put the characters in front of the dragon and they give you an idea of the scale of the beast! For now, here are some pictures of the creature:

Thanks again to you for allowing us to make this dream come true by creating this mini. She is now the mascot of our studio :) We will try a 3D printing and we will share it with you.

Avant de lancer cette mise à jour dédiée au dragon d’Agate, nous voudrions vous remercier pour tous les messages incroyables que vous postez ici sur Kickstarter ou sur les réseaux. Nous sommes tellement heureux de partager votre joie et excitation de découvrir vos contreparties ! Merci pour cela ! Les expéditions sont pratiquement terminées, il nous reste quelques centaines de colis à envoyer pour les souscripteurs américains. Tout devrait être fini à la fin de semaine prochaine. Here we are in March and it's time for a full update on deliveries. First of all, we thank you for your patience. We have been waiting for an accurate status update from our partners.

Here is the schedule for this update:

• Shipments France, Europe and International

Shipping France, Europe and International

That's it! It was so long and so frustrating, but our partner in France has finally announced the end of all shipments to France, Europe and International. Phew! Depending on where you live, your package could still take several days or even weeks to arrive. The processing of after sales cases is starting and should be finished by the end of the month according to our partner.

Shipments USA

Shipments continue and over 80% of the packages are sent. The last packages should leave before the end of the month. There are few after sales cases to process for the USA, so we hope that all backers will have received their packages before the end of the month.

Contact Agate Support

We are on deck to help and answer all our backers' requests. There are  thousands of you and only two people managing this aspect, we ask for  your patience :) We will do our best to solve your problem. It can take up to two weeks to get a response at this time. But we will not forget anyone. Please do  not send private messages via Kickstarter messaging. Issues on customs with DHL and how to request a refund

We are coming back to you with some information following our investigation on the customs fees charged on the packages of our Canadian and British subscribers.

We contacted DHL several times, the carrier who took care of the deliveries, sending mail to their headquarters, etc. We also contacted the English and Canadian customs. These customs taxes are completely out of our control, because we have no power over customs actions, but we want to help you in your claims.

Indeed, some of you seem to have had to pay fees well above the rate for books and goodies offered. We don’t know the exact reason for this, as the DHL company that was in charge of claiming the customs tax remains rather opaque on this subject.

However, it is possible to make a claim to re-evaluate the tax you paid.

For CANADA

Customs Services

According to Canadian legislation, “a person who has paid duties on imported goods may apply for a refund of all or part of those duties and the Minister may grant a full or partial refund of those duties and taxes levied on non-commercial (casual) imports.” To do so, here are the steps to follow:

1/ Fill in and sign this form:

For the UNITED KINGDOM

Customs Services

On this side, the research was more complicated, because since the Brexit, there was not really very precise information on the conditions and procedures of customs claims, but we know that since January 1, 2021, all shipments of goods between France and the United Kingdom are now subject to customs duties, with a surcharge set at 0.25€ per kg with a minimum of 5€ per shipment, as well as other taxes that are added depending on the type of goods declared and other parameters.

Same problem on this side, where it is quite complicated to find a specific form for customs claims, but we were able to recover an email address to which you can send your request, always accompanied by the same documents as for the customs services: [email protected]

To conclude

Whether in Canada or in the United Kingdom, you should know that the customs tax, in addition to having a variable tax on the products according to the goods shipped, the country of manufacture and import, includes several other taxes such as processing fees, transport fees by weight and service fees for the broker who claims the tax, i.e. the DHL company.

Our studio receives absolutely nothing from this tax and it is not in our interest that our backers face these difficulties. We are very sorry about this situation, and we are working on future solutions to avoid this problem, but it may take some time to implement, so we thank you for your understanding, and we hope your customs claims will be successful.

Expéditions France, Europe et International

Voilà, c’est fait ! Ce fut extrêmement laborieux sur la fin et très long, mais notre partenaire en France nous a enfin annoncé la fin des expéditions de tous les colis vers la France, Europe et International. Ouf ! Selon votre lieu de résidence, votre colis pourrait mettre encore plusieurs jours pour arriver. Le traitement des cas de SAV commence et devrait se terminer à la fin du mois selon notre partenaire.

Expéditions USA

Les expéditions continuent et plus de 80 % des colis sont envoyés. Les derniers colis devraient partir avant la fin du mois. Il y a peu de cas de SAV à traiter pour les USA, nous espérons donc que tous les backers aient reçu leur colis avant la fin du mois.

Nous sommes sur le pont pour aider et répondre aux demandes de tous  nos souscripteurs. Anomalies sur les taxes douanières avec DHL et comment demander un remboursement

Nous revenons vers vous avec quelques informations suite à notre enquête sur les frais de douane appliqués aux colis de nos souscripteurs/trices canadiens et britanniques.

Nous avons contacté plusieurs fois DHL, le transporteur qui s’est occupé des livraisons, envoyant des courrier à leur siège, etc. Nous sommes également entrés en contact avec les douanes anglaises et canadiennes. Ces taxes sont indépendantes de notre volonté, car nous n’avons aucun contrôle sur les actions douanières, mais il nous tenait à cœur de pouvoir vous aider dans vos démarches de réclamations. En effet, certains d’entre vous semblent avoir dû régler des frais bien au-delà du tarif prévu pour des livres et goodies offerts. Nous ne connaissons pas la raison exacte justifiant ces frais supplémentaires : la société DHL, chargée de réclamer la taxe douanière, reste assez opaque sur ce sujet.

Cependant, il vous est possible de faire une réclamation pour faire réévaluer la taxe que vous avez payée.

Pour le CANADA

Selon la législation canadienne, « une personne qui a payé des droits sur des marchandises importées peut demander un remboursement de tout ou partie de ces droits et le ministre peut accorder le remboursement total ou partiel de ces droits et taxes perçus sur les importations non commerciales (occasionnelles) ».Pour cela, voilà la démarche à suivre :

De ce côté-là, les recherches ont été plus compliquées, car depuis le Brexit, il n’y a pas vraiment eu d’informations très précises sur les conditions et procédures des réclamations douanières, mais nous savons que depuis le 1erjanvier 2021, tous les envois de marchandises entre la France et le Royaume-Uni sont désormais soumis à des droits de douane, avec une surtaxe fixée à 0.25€ par kilo avec un minimum de 5€ par envoi, ainsi que d’autres taxes qui viennent s’ajouter en fonction du type de marchandise déclaré et d’autres paramètres. Le prix total de la commande et le poids du colis entrent notamment en compte.

Même problème de ce côté, où il est assez compliqué de trouver un formulaire spécifique aux réclamations douanières, mais nous avons pu récupérer une adresse email à laquelle vous pouvez envoyer votre demande, toujours accompagnée des mêmes documents que pour les services douaniers : [email protected]

Pour conclure

Que ce soit au Canada ou au Royaume-Uni, sachez que la taxe douanière, en plus de comprendre une taxe variable sur les produits en fonction de la marchandise expédiée, du pays de fabrication et d’import, comporte aussi plusieurs autres taxations comme des frais de traitement, des frais de transport au poids et des frais de service pour le courtier qui réclame la taxe, donc la société DHL.

Le Studio Agate, lui, ne perçoit absolument rien de cette taxe et ce n’est pas du tout dans notre intérêt que nos souscripteurs/trices en pâtissent.

Nous sommes vraiment navrés de cette situation, et nous réfléchissons à des solutions futures pour éviter ce problème, mais cela risque de prendre un certain temps à se mettre en place, c’est pourquoi nous vous remercions pour votre compréhension, et nous espérons que vos réclamations douanières aboutiront.

Here is a full news about the shipping process of your rewards. First  of all, please excuse my broken English. We have just received an  update from our partners and while the shipments are very advanced, they  are not yet finished! Even though these aspects are totally out of our  control, we are really sorry for having announced an end of the  expeditions for the end of January because it was an over-optimistic  estimation. We are very sorry about that. We kindly ask you for some  more patience. Here are all the details as we know them today:

Shipments to France, Europe and International

The parcels for these destinations leave from France via Colissimo for France and DHL for the rest of the world. To date, 85% of the shipments have been completed. There are still about 800 parcels to be shipped and our partner has  announced a completion date of 11 February. After that, we will deal  with all the anomalies and requests received at support (mainly  replacements and missing item). At the moment we have an incident rate  of about 5%. This is more or less the norm, but it still concerns  several hundred backers. In the end, we hope that the entire operation  will be completed by the end of February.

Shipments to USA

To date, 2400 parcels have been sent out of the 5200 by our American partner. They  are experiencing some difficulties, we share their message with you:  "We are still having issues with the pandemic, weather and lack of  employees. We are applying all the manpower we can to getting the rest  of the orders out the door."

Our partner is having trouble announcing an end date for shipments.  When this wave is over, we will have to process all the requests  received at the support desk like replacements and missing item. In the  end, we hope that all packages will be shipped by the end of February  and that all anomalies will be solved by mid-March.

Please note that these are only estimates. On our side, two members  of our studio are working full time on shipment tracking and support.  And we sincerely believe that our partners in France and the USA are  doing their best. We thank you very much for your patience and kind  understanding :)

Customs issues with DHL in UK and Canada

Read carefully : several UK and Canadian backers have reported  significant customs charges added to their initial pledge. This seems to  be mainly for the UK and Canada. We do not understand these customs  fees which seem prohibitive. For our part, the invoices and customs  documents were filled in with the correct product codes for customs.  However, books, which constitute the majority of your rewards, are very  lightly taxed. A customs fee of 20% on the total rewards seems very odd  to us.

We are currently trying to contact DHL who are legally responsible  for collecting and remitting the taxes. It is very difficult to reach  them but we insist.

This problem of customs charges is beyond our control but we will do  our best to get an explanation and share it with you. We hope that these  actions will lead to a refund of these charges, should they prove to be  undue.

If you receive a request for payment of these charges, please feel  free to ask the DHL customer service department in your area for an  explanation, reminding them that your parcel consists largely of books.  You can also contact the customs department in your country to get some  assistance.

Some backers are asking us when the launch of Creatures: Netherworld will take place. We would like to wait until deliveries are fully  completed. If it takes too long, it could cause problems for our studio  because we would not have enough cash flow. The way things are going, we're looking at an April 4th launch. We're giving ourselves a bit of leeway from what we've been told by our logistic partners.

In the meantime, we will be presenting new previews of the Creatures: Netherworld book.  We will also finish work on the last bonuses of this campaign, such as  the Agate Dragon mini and the mini-scenario collections.

For our next Kickstarter, we plan to have everything manufactured in  France, Europe and Canada. Until now, our books were made in Europe and  all the accessories in China, imposing many sea transits between Europe,  China and the United States. In 2021 we had to move 5 full containers  and it was very time consuming, stressful and expensive. We have been  wanting to relocate our production for a long time, we think this is the  right time to do it!

On the shipping of your rewards, we will discuss with our logistics  partners to improve the shipping method. If possible, we would like to  set up shipping hubs from Canada and England, and maybe even Australia,  in order to reduce shipping and customs costs, but also the  environmental impact of our creations. We are also considering offering  the possibility of collecting your rewards in a local game shop. We are  sharing some thoughts with you here, nothing is done yet but you have an  idea of what we will be working on in the coming months :)

Extended Rewards Photo Contest

We will extend the contest until everyone will get its reward. Here  is a reminder : To celebrate the delivery of your rewards, we are  organizing a small photo contest.The concept is simple: take a photo of  your rewards, being as imaginative as possible. The winner of the  contest will get a Fateforge Tetralogy (which will be sent to them or a  person of their choice) as well as a credit of $200 for our next  Kickstarter campaign, which will take place early in the coming year and  will be focused on the world below: Netherworld.

Participation is very simple

• Take a photo of your rewards.
• Post it on social media (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) with the #fateforge and #agate hashtag.
• You can post several different photos on different social media. Let your imagination run free! :)
• The contest will last until the end of the shipping process, so  that everyone gets their rewards and can participate. The results will  be announced soon after.

Voici une news à propos des expéditions. Nous venons de recevoir une  mise à jour de la part de nos partenaires et si les expéditions sont  très avancées, elles ne sont pas encore finies ! Même si ces aspects  sont totalement hors de notre contrôle, nous sommes vraiment désolés de  vous avoir annoncé une fin des expéditions pour la fin janvier car  c'était une estimation trop optimiste. Vraiment navré pour cela, il  faudra encore un peu de patience... Voici tous les détails tels que nous  en avons connaissance aujourd'hui :

Expéditions France, Europe et International

Les colis pour ces destinations partent de France via colissimo pour la France et DHL pour le reste du monde. A l'heure actuelle, 85% des envois sont achevés. Il reste environ 800 colis à expédier et notre partenaire nous a  annoncé une date de fin des envois le 11 février. Après cela, nous  allons traiter toutes les anomalies et les demandes reçues au support.  Actuellement, nous enregistrons un taux d'incident de 5% environ. C'est  plutôt un chiffre dans la norme mais cela concerne quand même au final  plusieurs centaines de souscripteurs. Au final, nous espérons que  l'opération complète sera terminée fin février.

Expéditions USA

A ce jour, 2400 colis ont été envoyés sur les 5200 confiés à notre partenaire américain. Celui-ci rencontre certaines difficultés, nous partageons avec vous son message :

" Nous avons toujours des problèmes avec la pandémie, la météo et le  manque d'employés. Nous mettons toute la main d'œuvre que nous pouvons  pour expédier reste des commandes. "

Notre partenaire a du mal à annoncer une date de fin des expéditions.  Lorsque cette vague sera finie, il faudra traiter tous les demandes  reçues au support. Au final, nous espérons que tous les colis seront  expédiés pour la fin du mois de février et que toutes les anomalies  seront résolues pour la mi-mars.

Notez bien que ce ne sont que des estimations. De notre côté, deux  membres de notre studio travaillent à temps plein sur le suivi des  expéditions et le support. Et nous pensons sincèrement que nos  partenaires en France et aux USA font au mieux. Nous vous remercions de  tout cœur pour votre patience et votre compréhension:)

Problème de douane avec DHL au UK et Canada

Plusieurs souscripteurs anglais et canadiens nous ont signalé  d'importants frais de douanes ajoutés à leur commande. Cela semble  concerner principalement le Royaume-Uni et le Canada. Nous ne comprenons  pas ces frais de douane qui nous semblent prohibitif. De notre côté,  les factures et documents douaniers ont été remplis avec les codes  produits corrects pour la douane. Or les livres, qui constituent la  majorité de vos contreparties, sont très peu taxés. Des frais de douane  de 20% sur le total de la contrepartie nous semblent très bizarre.

Nous sommes en ce moment même en train d'essayer de joindre les  services de DHL qui ont la responsabilité légale de collecter les taxes  et de les reverser. Il est très difficile de les joindre mais nous  insistons.

Ce problème de frais de douane est hors de notre contrôle mais nous  allons tout faire pour obtenir des explications et les partager avec  vous. Nous espérons que ces actions permettront un remboursement de ces  frais, s'ils s'avéraient indus.

Si vous recevez une demande de paiement de ces frais, n'hésitez pas à  demander au service client de DHL de votre secteur des explications en  leur rappelant que votre contrepartie consiste en bonne partie de  livres. Vous pouvez également contacter le service de douane de votre  pays.

Nous sommes sur le pont pour aider et répondre aux demandes de tous  nos souscripteurs. Vous êtes des milliers et seulement deux personnes  gèrent cet aspect, nous vous demandons de la patience:) Nous ferons au  mieux pour régler votre problème. Révision du calendrier et prochaines étapes

Certains souscripteurs nous demandent quand aura lieu le lancement de  Créatures : Inframonde. Nous souhaitons attendre que les livraisons  soient totalement terminées. Si cela tarde trop, cela pourrait causer  des problèmes pour notre studio car nous manquerions de rentrées  d'argent. Vu comment les choses évoluent, nous prévoyons un lancement le 4 avril prochain. Nous nous laissons un peu de marge par rapport à ce qui nous a été annoncé par nos partenaires.

Pendant ce temps, nous allons vous présenter de nouvelles previews de  ce livre. Nous allons également terminer le travail sur le Dragon d'Agate et le recueil de  minis scénarios.

Pour notre prochain Kickstarter, nous envisageons de tout faire  fabriquer en France, en Europe et au Canada. Jusque-là, nos livres  étaient fabriqués en Europe et tous les accessoires en Chine, imposant  de nombreux transits maritimes entre l'Europe, la Chine et les  Etats-Unis. En 2021 nous avons ainsi fait déplacer 5 containers pleins  et ce fut à la fois très long, très stressant et très coûteux. Cela fait  longtemps que nous voulons relocaliser notre production, nous pensons  que c'est le bon moment de le faire !

Sur la partie expédition de vos contreparties, nous allons discuter  avec nos partenaires logisticiens pour améliorer leur envoi. Si c'est  possible, nous aimerions mettre en place des hub d'expédition depuis le  Canada et l'Angleterre, et peut-être même l'Australie, ceci afin de  réduire les frais, que ce soit d'expédition ou de douane, mais aussi  l'impact environnemental de nos créations. Nous envisageons aussi de  proposer une possibilité de récolter vos contreparties dans une boutique  de jeu locale. Nous partageons ici des réflexions avec vous, rien n'est  encore fait mais vous avec une idée des sujets qui vous nous occuper  ces prochains mois:)

Concours photo de vos contreparties prolongé

Pour fêter l'arrivée de vos contreparties, nous organisons un petit  concours de photos. Le but du jeu est simple, photographiez votre  contrepartie de la manière la plus créative possible. Le ou la gagnante  du concours remportera une Tétralogie Dragons (nous lui expédierons à  elle ou une personne de son choix) ainsi qu'un crédit de 200$ pour la  prochaine souscription qui aura lieu en début d'année prochaine sur le  thème de l'Inframonde.

Pour participer, rien de plus simple

• Prenez une photo de votre contrepartie
• Postez-la sur les réseaux sociaux (Facebook, Instagram ou Twitter) avec le #dragons et #agate
• Vous pouvez poster plusieurs photos différentes sur les différents réseaux sociaux, laissez libre cours à votre imagination:)
• Le concours dure jusqu'au 10 janvier, afin d'être sûr que tout le  monde ait le temps de recevoir sa contrepartie. Le résultat sera  annoncé peu après.
